{"id":2443,"date":"2026-07-09T12:29:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T12:29:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rentabletrailers.ca\/?page_id=2443"},"modified":"2026-07-09T12:29:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T12:29:12","slug":"rental-agreement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/rentabletrailers.ca\/?page_id=2443","title":{"rendered":"Rental Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TERMS AND CONDITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rental Period<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trailer must be returned by the agreed return date and time. We understand that unexpected delays can happen, so a <strong>1-hour grace period<\/strong> is provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the grace period, additional rental charges will apply. Late returns of <strong>more than 1 hour and up to 24 hours<\/strong> will be charged <strong>one additional day&#8217;s rental<\/strong> at the current daily rate. Longer delays will continue to be charged at the applicable rental rate until the trailer is returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you expect to be late, <strong>you must contact us as soon as possible<\/strong> with your expected return time. Communication is extremely important, as many of our trailers are reserved for customers based on your scheduled return time. Keeping us informed allows us to manage upcoming rentals and minimize disruptions for other customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a trailer is <strong>more than 24 hours overdue and we have been unable to contact you or have received no communication from you<\/strong>, we may consider the trailer to be unreturned and may report it to the appropriate police service and\/or our insurance provider. The renter remains responsible for all applicable rental charges and any other costs or damages permitted by law until the trailer is returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Renter Responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter represents and warrants that they hold a valid driver&#8217;s licence appropriate for the towing vehicle and trailer, are legally permitted to operate the towing vehicle, and are not impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication, or any other substance that could affect their ability to tow safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter is responsible for ensuring their automobile insurance provides the necessary coverage while towing the rented trailer. Rentable Trailers does not provide insurance for the renter&#8217;s towing vehicle, cargo, or liability arising from the renter&#8217;s operation of the trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter agrees to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Operate the trailer safely and legally.<br>\u2022 Ensure the towing vehicle is suitable for the trailer and load.<br>\u2022 Load the trailer safely and within its rated capacity.<br>\u2022 Properly secure all cargo before and during transport.<br>\u2022 Conduct regular checks of the hitch, coupler, chains, and lights during use.<br>\u2022 Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only the renter listed on this agreement, or another person specifically authorized by Rentable Trailers, may tow or operate the trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Damage and Loss<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any damage occurring during the rental period is presumed to have occurred while under the renter&#8217;s care unless otherwise demonstrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter is responsible for any damage, loss, theft, misuse, neglect, or vandalism occurring while the trailer is in the renter&#8217;s possession, except where prohibited by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter is responsible for reasonable costs arising from damage including repairs, replacement parts, towing, recovery, storage, cleaning, administrative expenses, and loss of rental revenue while repairs are being completed, where permitted by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rentable Trailers is not responsible for loss of or damage to any cargo or personal property transported in or on the trailer, regardless of cause, except where required by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter is responsible for all towing, recovery, storage, and transportation costs resulting from abandonment or immobilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"4\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tires<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Damage resulting from tire punctures, curb damage, sidewall damage, wheel damage, bent rims, impacts, road hazards, debris, or improper tire maintenance while the trailer is in the renter&#8217;s possession is the responsibility of the renter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"5\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prohibited Uses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trailer shall not be used:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 By an unlicensed driver.<br>\u2022 For illegal purposes.<br>\u2022 Off-road or on trails not suitable for highway trailers.<br>\u2022 To transport passengers.<br>\u2022 Beyond the trailer&#8217;s rated capacity.<br>\u2022 In any manner contrary to the manufacturer&#8217;s intended use.<br>\u2022 For racing.<br>\u2022 For driver training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trailer shall not be subleased, loaned, or otherwise transferred to another person without written permission from Rentable Trailers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trailer shall not be taken outside Canada without prior written authorization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Traffic Violations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter is responsible for all parking tickets, tolls, fines, penalties, or other violations incurred during the rental period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Breakdowns, Accidents and Repairs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter shall immediately notify Rentable Trailers of any mechanical issue, damage, or breakdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of an accident, the renter agrees to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Comply with all applicable legal requirements, including notifying the police where required by law.<br>\u2022 Obtain the names, contact information, insurance details, and vehicle information of all involved parties, where applicable.<br>\u2022 Take reasonable steps to protect the trailer from further damage or loss.<br>\u2022 Notify Rentable Trailers as soon as it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No repairs shall be authorized without prior approval except where necessary to protect personal safety or prevent further damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Return Condition<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The trailer shall be returned:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Empty.<br>\u2022 In substantially the same condition as rented.<br>\u2022 With all supplied accessories and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the trailer is not returned in accordance with the above conditions, the renter agrees to pay:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cleaning:<\/strong> <strong>$50.00 per hour<\/strong> for the actual time required to restore the trailer to its original condition (minimum 1 hour).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Repairs:<\/strong> The full cost of repairing or replacing any damaged or missing components, equipment, or accessories. Repair charges will be based on the actual cost incurred to restore the trailer to the condition it was in at the start of the rental, excluding normal wear and tear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"9\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Limitation of Liability<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rentable Trailers shall not be responsible for loss of cargo, business interruption, personal property damage, or indirect losses arising from the use of the trailer except as required by law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"10\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Acknowledgement<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter acknowledges that towing a trailer requires skill, judgment, and attention. The renter accepts responsibility for ensuring that the towing vehicle, hitch, wiring connection, cargo, and load distribution are suitable and safe for use with the rented trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The renter authorizes Rentable Trailers to charge any outstanding rental fees, damage charges, cleaning charges, traffic violations paid on the renter&#8217;s behalf, or other amounts owing under this agreement to the payment method provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If any provision of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By signing below, the renter confirms that they have inspected the trailer, received the safety rules sheet, and agree to the terms of this agreement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TERMS AND CONDITIONS The trailer must be returned by the agreed return date and time.
